History
Bharat Sewak Shiksha Samiti (BSSS) has a rich legacy dating back to 1960. In 1963, BSSS established Lal Bahadur Shastri College, founded by Pt. Devi Shankar Tiwari, a dedicated nationalist, freedom fighter, and visionary leader & Justice Shri Daulat Mal Bhandari, former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, whose life was a testament to service and humility. Today, the BSSS offers a wide range of undergraduate programs, including Pharmacy (D. Pharm, B. Pharm, M. Pharm, and Ph.D.), as well as Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Science, Arts, and Commerce. The college also provides vocational and professional courses in fields such as Computer Science and Education (B.Ed). In addition, postgraduate programs are available across various disciplines.

Under the dynamic and dedicated leadership of Shri Prageshwar Tiwari (President), Shri Rajeshwar Tiwari (Vice-President), Dr. Dhirendra Bhandari (Secretary) and other esteemed members of the Governing Body, BSSS continues to make remarkable strides in the field of education.
Recognizing the growing importance of technical education, the late Dr. V.N. Sharma, Emeritus Professor at S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur, was entrusted with establishing the Pharmacy Department as Technical Advisor. A renowned pharmacologist, Dr. Sharma brought his academic excellence, professional dedication, and administrative acumen to the department, which was founded in 1988 with a diploma program. Under his guidance, the department has evolved into one of Rajasthan’s premier institutions for pharmacy education.
To further meet the demands of the global pharmaceutical industry, BSSS launched the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) program in the 2004-05 academic session, followed by the Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) in Pharmaceutics in 2011-12.
Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Pharmacy (LBSCOP) established Rajasthan’s first Drug Information Center (DIC) in collaboration with the Rajasthan Pharmacy Council, with support from the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council and the World Health Organization (WHO). The center operates using DRUGDEX, the world’s most comprehensive and up-to-date drug information software developed by MICROMEDEX. Recognized by the U.S. Congress as a reference standard for drug utilization review and clinical decision-making, DRUGDEX ensures the highest quality of drug information services.
